STREET SWEEPING PARKING ENFORCEMENT SUSPENDED
Now – April 30, 2020

In order to decrease the burden to families during the COVID-19 related school closures, the City of South El Monte is not enforcing street sweeping parking violations, effective now through April 30, 2020.

Street sweeping is a critical health service for the community and therefore will continue to take place.

Street sweeping services are performed on a weekly basis on city public streets to enhance the aesthetics, health, and safety of our community. The street sweepers clean our streets and reduce the amount of debris entering our storm drains, reduce the potential for flooding, and prevent pollutants from entering local rivers and the ocean. Additionally, street sweeping helps the City comply with state and federal storm water quality requirements.
