The City of South El Monte is committed to customer satisfaction and timely responses; the Human Resources Division goal is to hire employees to achieve this standard. 

Human Resources is responsible for employee recruitment, retention efforts, benefit administration, personnel review, labor relations, personnel rules and regulations, and salary adjustments. Risk Management coordinates general liability claims and the City's Worker Compensation Programs.

The City of South El Monte employs approximately 100 employees working in a wide range of fields including administration, finance, planning, code enforcement, public works, recreation and more. 

Full-time, part-time, and seasonal part-time positions exist for people of various ages and levels of education.

RISK MANAGEMENT 

Human Resources applies loss prevention and control measures through identification and analysis of loss exposure in the areas of liability, workers compensation, and property loss.

The City is a member of the California Joint Powers Insurance Authority, which provides for the pooling of self-insured losses of its member cities.
