Why Construction on Durfee Avenue ?

Description of Project:

The City of South El Monte will begin in February on a street and median improvement project on Durfee Avenue between Rush Street and I-60 Freeway as part of the City’s Capital Improvement Program. The infrastructure enhancements include the replacing of damaged curbs and gutters, driveways; installation of a midblock crossing, pedestrian ADA ramps, beautification medians with landscape; and street repavement along with traffic striping and other related improvements. The project will also include protected bike lanes  along Durfee Avenue.

Lane closures will be required during construction and while the street will stay open during working hours, motorists can expect some traffic delays. Therefore, motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes during construction. ‚Äč
