Enforcable obligation payment schedule pursuant to California Health and Saftey Code Section 34169
Recently, the California Governor enacted legislation that, if upheld, would dissolve the South El Monte Community Development Commission unless the City of South El Monte agrees to make specified payments for the benefit of school entities and other local entities. Beginning upon the effective date of the legislation, and until such time that the City decides to adopt an ordinance agreeing to make the specified payments, the Commission is prohibited from expending Commission funds for purposes other than payment of “enforceable obligations.” The Commission is required to make a list of these “enforceable obligations” and provide a copy to various state agencies. If the City does not adopt an ordinance to make the specified payments to continue the redevelopment activities of the Commission, then the list of “enforceable obligations” will be used by a successor entity to wind up of the affairs of the Commission.
